Hotels

Recently, Ram Air Engineering has been doing work with many of the major hotels around the Southern California region. Everything from completely retrofitting their central plant and installing new EMS controls to quarterly and annual chiller preventative maintenance.

Waterfront Hilton

Waterfront Hilton

We started the investigation/retrofitting process in April 2008. We installed a new Trane chiller flat plate heat exchanger for free cooling for phase 1 of the process. A wet side economizer was utilized along with condenser water sensors to monitor temperature and allow control of VFD’s for cooling tower fans and pumps. We provided an interface panel to Metasys NAE front end to allow chiller parameters to be remotely monitored and controlled via a graphical front end. Since April, the newly designed and maintained plant has saved Hilton over $300,000.

Sheraton Universal

Sheraton Universal

Installed 2 new Trane chillers. We upgraded the BAS to allow integration to the central chiller plant controls. We installed DX9100 controllers for peripheral interface and further control using Johnson's Metasys system. Set up internet access for remote monitoring and control to increase flexibility and control options. We are maintaining the plant through continuous commissioning. Based on the new equipment and monitoring Sheraton is a much more efficient operation.

Bonaventure
